Many clients come to us once their physical therapist has signed off and cleared them for independent exercise, because they want to keep building strength and confidence. We don't work with anyone who is still in active rehabilitation.
Once your physical therapist has signed off and cleared you for independent exercise, training in the water lets you keep building strength and endurance while buoyancy takes some of the load off your joints. Sessions are private and progress step by step, and any precautions or home exercises from your PT are built into your program. It's a bridge from finishing therapy back to the activities you love. Many people with arthritis or joint discomfort find the water a more comfortable place to exercise, because buoyancy can reduce some of the load on the joints. Exercises are modified to you. Depending on the procedure and how recently it happened, you may need clearance from your surgeon or healthcare provider before starting. Once you're cleared for independent exercise, your training is built around your current abilities and any guidance your provider has given you.
